A Passion for Performance: Showcasing the Arts
A appreciation of the performing arts has long thrived on Bryn Mawr's campus. Since its earliest days, the school has featured many student-organized plays, from traditional Banner Shows to the productions of college-affiliated performance troupes. The student body's love of the arts inspired a drive to build a desperately needed campus theater and to endow the neglected Music department. The scrapbook of Lucy Meritt (née Shoe) serves as an excellent guide to Bryn Mawr's burgeoning theater scene during the 1920s.
