The following writing prompt has been designed for this subject matter:
You are the chairman of the board of trustees at Bryn Mawr College. A group of students want the college to consider revising the Woodrow Wilson historic marker so that it can portray a realistic picture of his time at Bryn Mawr College.
Based upon what we have read and discussed about Wilson, both during his time at Bryn Mawr and his later career, your job is to decide if the college should revise the marker. Provide examples for your decision.
- OPINION 1: You don’t change the plaque and write 3 paragraphs for the college newspaper explaining your decision.
- OPINION 2: You change the plaque and write a 2-3 paragraph for the college newspaper explaining your decision. Note in addition to the paragraphs, you need to include a revised version of the plaque.
