This multimedia piece juxtaposes the voices of the class of 1958 singing their class songs with photographs contained in one of the many scrapbooks held in Bryn Mawr College’s Special Collections. The images you see are from the scrapbook created by Jane Beardwood ’12, donated to the college by her sister Alice Beardwood ‘17. The scrapbook includes both formal occasions such as May Day and step sings, as well as various theatrical productions. The candid photographs of friends in dorms and around campus are over one hundred years old, yet will be familiar to Mawrtyrs from across the decades. Indeed, although over forty years separates the songs you hear and the images that were taken, both speak to the joy many experienced during their time at the college.
